My name is Alicia, and I am a three-year breast cancer survivor! I was diagnosed with bc in January 2005 at the age of 33. I had Stage 1/ Grade 2a Invasive Ductal Carcinoma Insitu in one breast. I endured a lumpectomy, a re-excision, chemotherapy, and then a double mastectomy (one prophylactic) with immediate free-flap reconstruction.
This blog was orginally a website that my husband created for me to communicate my treatment schedule with my family. But it turned out to be more. It became a journal of journey through breast cancer treatment and surgeries. After being inactive for over a year, requests for it's return were highly numbered. I decided to republish it as a blog.
I pray this will be a blessing and encouragement to you, whether you are newly diagnosed survivor or a loved one. The Lord is always faithful!
